Mekong River Commission to Celebrate 30 Years of Shared Prosperity on Mekong Day 2025

The Mekong River Commission (MRC) is hosting Mekong Day 2025 to mark the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Mekong Agreement, a landmark treaty that has fostered regional cooperation in the sustainable management and development of the Mekong River. This event will celebrate past achievements, reaffirm commitments, and engage stakeholders in shaping the future of the Mekong Basin.

MRC and Japan Sign Agreement to Strengthen Flood and Drought Risk Management in the Lower Mekong Basin

The Mekong River Commission (MRC) and the Government of Japan signed an agreement to support the implementation of the Project for Strengthening Flood and Drought Risk Management in the Lower Mekong Basin. The agreement marks a significant step in advancing regional efforts to mitigate climate-related disasters and enhance water resource management across Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand, and Vietnam.
