Event Overview

The Mekong River Commission (MRC) is hosting Mekong Day 2025 to mark the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Mekong Agreement, a landmark treaty that has fostered regional cooperation in the sustainable management and development of the Mekong River. This event will celebrate past achievements, reaffirm commitments, and engage stakeholders in shaping the future of the Mekong Basin.

Highlights of the Event

  • Welcoming Remarks & Keynote Speeches: Senior officials from MRC Member Countries will share reflections on three decades of cooperation and future commitments.
  • 4th State of the Mekong Address: Delivered by Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, CEO of the MRC Secretariat, outlining the environment, economic, social, climate, and cooperation dimensions of the Mekong River.
  • Song Contest Award Ceremony & Performances: Winners of the Mekong Day Song Competition will be announced, followed by live performances celebrating the Mekong’s cultural and environmental significance.
