Key Responsibilities
  • To provide support to the coordination of workshops and meetings under the ISH;
  • To research on a range of subjects and to liaise with other MRC programmes and external stakeholders to gather information; To assist the ISH management in coordinating the activities between the ISH components and projects to arrive at optimal synergy and to avoid overlaps and unnecessary costs;
  • To prepare draft agenda, draft memo and documentation for the Programme coordination meetings and the Advisory Committee meetings;
  • Maintain regular communication with the National Mekong Committees Secretariats (NMCS), national experts and other related organizations in riparian countries to contribute to the smooth cooperation with the Initiative on Sustainable Hydropower;
  • To take notes of meeting and produce the Minutes in timely manner with high accuracy;
  • Collaborate in the preparation, reviews and reports related technical report, publication, papers and presentation materials pertaining to promote and disseminate the activities and outputs under key duties for the Programme to Member Countries and the public;
  • To perform other relevant duties as assigned by the ISH Programme Coordinator.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in the field of planning and management, engineering or water resources management or related field;
  • Experience with project management and business administration in an International NGO is an advantage;
  • High proficiency in the use of personal computers (i.e. MS project, word, excel, spreadsheets, power point);
  • Have strong skill and capability in communication and coordination with a diverse professional backgrounds and multi-cultural working environment;
  • Desired Five years of working experience for international organizations in the field of water resource planning, management, and mitigation;
  • Very good knowledge about the MRC and its activities and working experience in the MRC countries particularly in the field of water resource management and planning is an advantage;
  • Have experience in organizing significant events such as training, workshops, and forums is an advantage;
  • Experience of working in an international or multi-cultural environment is an advantage;
  • Excellent command of verbal and written English is necessary. Any working experience and/or knowledge of one or more riparian language (Khmer, Lao, Thai, Vietnamese) would be an advantage.
