Strategy and Work Programmes
The Work Programme 2012 contains brief descriptions of MRC programmes and explains how they are contributing to the newly approved MRC Strategic Plan 2011-2015. It includes an activity plan for 2012 including a list of the active Programme and their budget.
The MRC Work Programme 2011 describes the supporting outputs MRC will produce in the course of the year to further the Mekong Programme. The structure of the programme is mainly based on the MRC Strategic Plan 2011-2015.
The Basin Development Strategy (BDS) 2011-2015 outlines a set of strategic priorities for the basin-wide sustainable development of water sources, introducing a five-year action plan that addresses both economic opportunities and potential environmental and social impacts.
The Strategic Plan (SP) 2011-2015 presents a framework for the transition of the MRC detailing how the MRC will achieve greater relevance through more sustainable operations
and greater stakeholder ownership as it reaches a new level of maturity through implementation of its core river basin management functions.
The MRC Work Programme 2010 describes the supporting outputs MRC will produce in the course of the year to further the Mekong Programme. The structure of the programme is mainly based on the MRC Strategic Plan 2006-2010.
The paper reviews some background and rationale for MRC’s engagement with agriculture and provided a summary of the options covering agricultural knowledge base, planning support, support to agricultural management and development, and capacity development.
This Communications Strategy seeks to promote the MRC as a world class river basin organisation that serves the peoples of its Member States in their need to sustainably develop the water resources of the Mekong River Basin.
