Abstract

The Mekong River Commission Annual Report 2023 highlights the organisation’s key achievements and its roadmap for sustaining progress into 2024. As the third year of the MRC’s Strategic Plan (2021-2025), 2023 saw significant advancements, particularly in the wake of the global pandemic. These accomplishments are closely aligned with the Basin Development Strategy (2021-2030), which focuses on strategic priorities like the environment, social and economic development, climate change, and cooperation. The report showcases success stories and progress made toward achieving the 11 Basin Development Strategy outcomes and 28 outputs, while also identifying areas needing attention in 2024.
