Distinguished delegates, ladies and gentlemen,

With the adoption and signing of the minutes, we are now at the end of the Nineteenth Meeting of the MRC Council and I would like to express my sincere thanks to all delegates for their hard work in contributing to this meeting.

Once again we have had fruitful and constructive discussions, and with these approved minutes we have set the course for another momentous year of work for the MRC to achieve its strategic goals.

I also convey my thanks to both the Lao National Mekong Committee Secretariat and the MRC Secretariat for all their efforts in preparing for this meeting.

I am also glad to report the successful signing of a new funding agreement with the European Union in support of the Climate Change and Adaptation Initiative for 2011-2015.

On this note, I would like to ask you to join me for dinner tonight at Huan Luang Prabang Restaurant.

Tomorrow, we will set off for the field trip to the Xayaburi Hydropower Project site. For those of you who must leave us before our field trip, I wish you a safe journey home.

With this, I declare the Nineteenth Meeting of the MRC Council closed.
