Regional Workshop on Sustainable Watershed Management in the Lower Mekong Basin and Field Visit to SUMALOM Nam Ton Watershed Project  

Date:

Summary:

The workshop will facilitate the sharing of knowledge and best practices; present findings, conclusions and facilitate exchange of experiences from SUMALOM Nam Ton and other MRC member countries as well as identify key challenges and priority actions towards further sustainable watershed planning and management in the LMB. 

 

Title:

Regional Digital Media Training

Date:

MRC Secretariat, Vientiane, Lao PDR

Summary:

The training is organised for the communication focal points of the National Mekong Commitees Secretariat and the MRC Secretariat’s Communication personnel. It aims to enhancing the social media and digital communication skills to promote the MRC as a whole and the Integrated Water Resource Management-based transboundary cooperation through MRC-NMCs joint communcation activities.

 

Title:

Regional Consultation Meeting on reactivating a work task of the MRC Annual Workplan: Piloting agricultural land use monitoring in selected areas in member countries.

Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand

Summary:

The meeting aims to re-activate the task and recall the overall progress with the member countries (MCs), confirm with each MCs on the proposed national working group and pilot study areas, discuss and agree on work plan to accomplish the task; and seek for recommendations on the guideline for data collection and group discussion that will be used for field survey and further implementation.

 

Title:

MRC Media Training for Senior Management

Setha Palace Hotel, Vientiane, Lao PDR

Summary:

The training aims to help strengthen capacity of Senior Management of the MRC Secretariat and National Mekong Committees to effectively engage media in varying situations. This includes responding to media requests, queries, giving planned/unplanned interviews, engaging public speaking, and conveying the right and consistent messages.
