MRC Summit 2010
Hua Hin, Thailand, 4th Apr 2010 - 5th Apr 2010
The Summit, which is the first of its kind, gathered together regional political leaders and a range of experts in the field of integrated water resources management. It served to strengthen regional cooperation between Member Countries, Dialogue Partners and civil society at large in this important area.
This event marked the 15th Anniversary of the Mekong River Commission and served to reaffirm at the highest level, political commitment of Member Countries to the mission of the MRC. It aimed to reaffirm the continued good relationships that the organisation has with Dialogue Partners the People’s Republic of China and the Union of Myanmar; and discuss a range of challenges and opportunities facing the Mekong Basin today, especially the long-term effects of climate change and the role of River Basin Organisations in poverty alleviation.
