Mekong Environment and Climate Symposium 2010

Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam , 26th Apr 2010 - 27th Apr 2010

Stakeholders from the MRC Member Countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Viet Nam), Dialogue Partners (China and Myanmar), donor agencies, MRC Programmes, scientists from the Mekong River Basin and the international community, international and national civil society organisations, journalists, and local communities joined the forum.

At the event, there were 5 thematic sessions:

  • Thematic session 1 "Development of Methodology and Tools for protection of the Mekong River environment"
  • Thematic session 2 "Environmental knowledge sharing for the Mekong River"
  • Thematic session 3 "Bridging environmental policy, decision makers and stakeholders on Mekong environmental protection and conservation plans of action"
  • Thematic session 4 "Preparedness and adaptive capacity to Mekong environment changes and climate risks"
  • Thematic session 5 "Partnership and collaboration for a sustainable Mekong environment"

The event was an interactive platform for stakeholders and concerned citizen to share, discuss, and connect in a permissive atmosphere.
